oil is increasing and it affects daily living. Of course, that is just one example of the state of things in the world today. The world does have finite
resources and limitations (Prugh & Assadourian, 2003). Well being will be increased if there are fewer people on the planet (Prugh & Assadourian, 2003). It sounds like a cruel
statement but the truth is that resources are not unlimited. An analogy is that a family will have more resources for their children if they have fewer children. If there
are eight offspring, there will not be as many material goods to go around as there might if there were only one child in the family. The family has a
certain income and it is spread accordingly. Similarly, certain expenses are more typical for girls than for boys and vice versa. When looking at the entire world situation, the same
holds true. There are a certain amount of resources that must be shared. A major problem is the lack of food in certain poor regions. Creating a fair diet for
three billion individuals requisites less cultivated land, farming, and so forth which translates to undisturbed wilderness and greater biodiversity and so forth (Prugh & Assadourian, 2003). Yet, average well
being is not the norm and when material wealth is not evenly distributed, that could hurt some of the people (Prugh & Assadourian, 2003). In other words, food is shared
even though there appears to be an abundance of it. There is much attention paid to starving children. One sees commercials on television because of this all of the
time. Yet, few stop to ask how food can be more evenly distributed on a daily basis. People should not have to beg for food. Most Americans have stocked shelves.
