The following paper reviews the book "No Intermissions: The Life of Agnes de Mille" by Carol Easton as it tells the life and work of Agnes de Mille. Life
and Works of Agnes de Mille While this particular researcher/writer has long loved the art of dance they have had little knowledge of Agnes de Mille and her history and
involvement in movies and dance in the nation. And, while biographies are not normally written intriguingly or interestingly enough for this particular researcher/writer, this particular book by Easton was very
enlightening and interesting. It is a book that connects Agnes with many of Hollywoods big names, big movies, and the development of Hollywood itself.
It is a book that illustrates how art was not often encouraged by parents, and how Agnes taught herself and pushed till she made dance, aside from ballet,
something that could be seen in a positive light by many people. It is a book that talks of history in this nation in many ways, and a book that
ultimately offers the reader a look at a woman who would not give up and that makes it an inspirational book as well. In truth, there are many reasons to
read this book even if someone is not interested in dance. It speaks of gender barriers, society, Hollywood, families, struggles in marriage, and rising above so many things in following
ones passion. In addition, it is very well written and easy to read, which makes for an even more enjoyable and informative read.
