money necessary to meet ones needs and not simply turning to the government or any other form of charity for assistance. While my parents, of course, saw to it that
my needs were met as a child and a young adolescent, it was understood that as an adult, it was my responsibility to provide for myself and govern my own
life. As this indicates, I was raised to have good values, to have a good work ethic and live by the principles I was taught in church. However, these
values, while simmering in the background of my consciousness, did not become an integral part of my consciousness until I got my first position at the Holiday Inn. It was
while I was working in this position that the values that I was brought up with came to the forefront of my awareness and it was then that I incorporated
them into the fabric of my adult life. This was a life-changing moment for me because my work experience on this job solidified my personal values and the basis
on which I found my self-respect. This foundation is not based on a paycheck. It does not matter precisely how much I am paid. What matters is work I perform,
that is, if I do that work to the best of my ability, working in collaboration as a team member with my co-worker and colleagues. At the Holiday Inn,
I worked with a positive, upbeat group of people who all endeavored to create the most pleasant, clean and attractive experience possible for our guests. There was a very real
