the need to never tell a lie will likely lie if they find it in their best interest, or the best interest of another, to lie. The following paper takes
three categories of lies, and liars, and discusses them. The categories are casual lies, careful lies, and compulsive liars. Casual Lies A casual lie is probably the most
common type of lie there is. A casual lie can be a number of things, or address a number of conditions and realities. For example, if one friend asks their
friend about their date or activity the previous night, "did you have fun last night" and that person just does not wish to get into any details they may just
say yes to end the conversation. It is not a deceitful or really harmful lie and is just a casual lie because it is really of no importance what the
answer would be. Another example of a casual lie may be if someone is asked what their favorite drink is. They may not have a favorite drink or cant
think of it and just come up with something which would inadvertently be a lie, though a casual one. A casual lie is generally one that does not harm anyone.
It is a lie that has no real consequences and is really not even thought out. It is merely a response, normally to a question perhaps, that is quick and
made without thought. Careful Lies Careful lies come in perhaps two different types, the type that is intentionally deceitful in a negative way and the type that is
