it is also increasingly important in terms of forecasting to help with staffing levels, assessing the impact of potential sales or promotions. The existing resources of the company include the
use of IT and there is staff training for the everyday use for sales and stock control. It may be argued that the more strategic use of IT is not
being fully leveraged, both in terms of the resources that are available, such as scenario planning1 and the skills of the management to use scenario planning. These as resources
that can be obtained when the company deems them to be necessary. Many software vendors sell off the shelf solutions for retail forms. In addition to this the company will
already have a great deal of the required input data for planning. Another important resource for a retail outlet is that of property locations, with a location that is
able to benefit from accessibility by the target market (Kotler, 2003). If the retail chain wants to expand there are finite numbers of available lots ion main shopping areas or
malls. These may be difficult to obtain, and may have a high rental or purchase price. Out of town sites will be easier to obtain. Question 5 For a
