a group setting. EEI (ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS OF INSTRUCTION) - LESSON PLAN ELEMENTS REQUIRED: Objective To provide students with vocabulary and information about the nature of syllabic structures to support
breaking down words by syllables, with a focus on open and closed syllables. Anticipatory Set Learners will be provided with vocabulary that supports the lessons, including a list of
definitions used in the lesson. Group discussion will be provided to ensure that learners understand the concepts. Teach Lesson / Model Activity 1: Review of concepts, including syllabic
structures and how to determine open and closed syllables and identify which syllable(s) represent the root word (Explanation) Activity 2: Paired or group activity that assesses understanding of word
