and accomplishing goals. First of all, Brown addresses internal factors, saying that the individual has to create a "larger vision of self." He points out that our inner conversations,
that is, what we say to ourselves, matters, and frequently people talk themselves out of trying, out of striving for something better. Brown also describes the nature of fear and
how the vast majority of human fears are taught, which includes the "fear of success." As this suggests, Brown lists the various obstacles that people create in order to avoid
success and growth. They do not feel worthy of success, so they procrastinate; they complain or they blame their circumstances. After thoroughly discussing internal attitudes that affect success, Brown
turns to the subject of relationships and how individuals are affected by external factors. He states that there are two kinds of relationships: nourishing relationships and toxic relationships. Nourishing relationships
are those that help you to grow as a person and encourage you to strive toward your goals. Toxic relationships retard and stunt growth through being negative. Brown encourages his
audience to make a list of all their relationships and think about what sort of person they are becoming because of this relationship. He says that "One negative energy drainer
can spoil your whole life." Throughout his speech, Brown has focused on the fact that it takes a lot of energy, a lot of work, to make real changes
