a small group who have all the resources they need to respond" (Four Learning Tasks). Technology greatly aids learners by giving them ready access to multiple resources for finding the
answers to such open questions. In general, learning tasks fall into four categories: inductive, input, implementation, and integration (Four Learning Tasks). The first steps in applying technology to
learning tasks are inductive/input tasks, as these tasks help student to identify the information that can be gathered through learning tasks and aids them in organizing this information in meaningful
ways. Inductive tasks help learners to "clarify where they are, at present" in regards to new content and input tasks invite them to "grapple" with this new content by presenting
"concepts, data, skill sets," etc. (Four Learning Tasks). The Internet abounds with sites that can be used for this purpose. For example, the Visible Human Project, which is available
through the National Library of Medicine, provides a "database of a complete set of cross-sectional images of a human male cadaver" (Lander). Concepts can be demonstrated using this database, accompanying
it with "simple graphics" that are appropriate to the age level of the students (Landers). Another example is the "B-EYE" site, which offers the learner a "view of the world
through the eye of a bee" (Lander). As this suggests, technology offers tools for teaching that are not possible in any other format. There are also sites that dramatically illustrate
