such it would be expected that the high professional attitudes and acceptance of learning would lead to the development of leadership skills. However, many law school courses focus on the
legal knowledge and skills needed, leadership is not always on the course. Later courses and work experience to not leave much time of the development of leadership skills in any
way apart for learning by observation and example. This has resulted in a passion where there are some law firm that are lacking leadership, but it is jot a universal
position, as there has been good leadership emerge in law firms. The problem faced by law firms and the way leadership emerges may be seen as specific to the
profession, where there is a high level of reliance on professional skills and knowledge. It may be argued that this is a hindrance to leadership, but it may also be
used to argue that leadership standards should be high due to the continual pattern of learning and the ability of those on the profession to take advantage of external and
ongoing learning opportunities including leadership and business courses as well as from experience and observation. 2. Educational Background In order to consider the role of learning and background to
