The bottom line is that there is much currency movement to manage, and the potential for risk is great. Those working in the industry must be firmly grounded in the technical aspects of their jobs, while also remaining cognizant of longer-term effects of their daily decisions. in the industry. Here, he gives some insight into his current role and the form that leadership takes in managing foreign exchange. Q: What are a few of the
things you really enjoy your current leadership role? As the global economy continues to emerge and expand, new opportunities - and new threats
- arise almost daily. The trend toward globalization over the past decade or so has created tremendous growth in the business of managing foreign exchange, to the point of
reinventing the industry. That which exists today bears only slight resemblance to that which existed 20 years ago. This ongoing change is one things I enjoy about my
current role. Constant evolution of the landscape keeps everyone on their toes and on the lookout for new opportunities and threats. This
is not an industry for those who wish only to follow others leads. We have had a few in the past who were not suited for the fast pace
and qualities of the unknown, but for the most part, those for whom Im responsible are highly competent and strongly motivated individuals. Its a challenge and a pleasure to
work with them. One other thing I get much satisfaction from is knowing that some of the trading and hedging our department does
