decisions. Various elements of leadership will enter the picture because all aspects of it involve ethical conduct and managerial skills. No one is exempt from these two aspects because good
leadership is always ethical and good leadership relies on managerial "know how." Two books can help an aspiring leader and they are Leading Teams and Thoughts on Leadership. Hackman (2002)
writes about the importance of teams and whom they can help to improve the organization, and the other book by Hitt (1992) actually provides quotations from leaders to prompt exemplary
leadership. Combined, the two writings will add to the knowledge of any executive. In his book Leading Teams, Hackman (2002) provides an overview of teams and why they are effective.
As the chapters unfold, Hackman (2002) tells the story of an airline that uses teams and he compares and contrasts this airline with a company in the same industry that
does not. The comparison provides food for thought in delving into this subject. After all, when reading about the actual practical use of teams and why it is essential, there
is nothing better than teaching through example. The book does not end there. In fact, the anecdotes serve as an introduction to the topic at hand. Hackman (2002) explores team
effectiveness, which is of course the most important thing to consider. There is no sense in creating teams unless they will after all be effective. Hackman (2002) recommends two
