his own betterment. Two such leaders are Moses and Martin Luther King, Jr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was a Baptist minister and civil rights leader who was born
in 1929 and died in 1968; as many know, he was a victim of an assassins bullet ("King," 2000). As a child, young Martin would devour books and his
talent as an orator has always been realized (2000). He had always been especially interested in the life of Gandhi (2000). In 1955, King would become pastor of
the Dexter Avenue Baptist Church in Montgomery, Alabama and soon afterwards would support Rosa Parks in her infamous bus protest (2000). King had dedicated his life to the ideology
of nonviolent action, as he believed that nonviolence allows for just consciences to come through, something that Gandhi had once demonstrated (2000). He did however realize that black people
would have to suffer while embracing the role of nonviolence (2000). Kings life had been filled with confrontations, and he was always ready to rush to a city
or scene to help demonstrate the power of nonviolence ("King," 2000). In March of 1963, a New York Times reporter remarked that the city was culturally and racially backward, and
soon King would react (2000). He did not take kindly to harsh words, but he continued his peaceful endeavors. Soon, the "I have a dream" speech would come and everyone
