workers believe senior managers have any integrity. This opinion is not unique to the U.S.; 40 percent of workers in the U.K. do not trust their immediate supervisor, and
almost half of Australian workers say they have little trust in their employers. Integrity and honesty are values by which I live. This is evident in value self-assessments. One author
proposed: "Strong leaders have unwavering commitment to their values" (SOURCE). I cannot imagine any situation in which I would violate my value of integrity. This type of commitment, according
to the same author leads to "consistency, credibility and authenticity" (SOURCE). A commitment to certain values is an ethical code, decisions are based on these values. The values show the
leader the path to take (SOURCE). It allows subordinates to have confidence and trust in what the leader says and does even if they dont agree. Empowering employees is
a principle that is also highly important. Leaders should always help employees reach their potential and one way to assure this is accomplished is by empowering employees, giving them autonomy
wherever possible. Empowering employees builds commitment (SOURCE). It sends a message that the leader believes in their ability and competence (SOURCE). With just these few values and principles, one sees
a transformational leadership model being fostered. This is the model this student wants to adopt, however, she needs more knowledge, skill and experience to adopt this model of leadership but
it is one that is needed in todays market. The transformational leadership style includes having a realistic vision that is attractive to others, communicating or framing the vision, model the
