a style that will be most effective and successful in the current situation. This follows along the line of situational leadership. While it only makes sense for a leader
to modify their style, there are some characteristics that transfer across contexts. For instance, regardless of the context, the leader must have a vision of where she wants the organization
to go. All leaders need to have especially good communication skills. They must also be able to persuade others to adopt their vision and work to achieving the goals associated
with the vision. There are many differences between a private sector company and a public safety organization. All private organizations work towards profit. This must be a priority because if
they do not have an adequate net profit, the company will not stay in business. Public agencies, by contrast, do not need to make a profit but they do need
to provide specific services for the public. In some cases, leadership styles would be very different between the private and public sectors. As mentioned, they will be different within the
same organization depending on the exact situation (Team Technology, 2010). As this group says, the leader must be flexible and be able to adapt her style as the situation changes
(Team Technology, 2010). This premise would hold true in either sector. One example is the leadership of teams; when the team is just beginning the leader would be more directive
