Essay / Research Paper Abstract
A 5 page book review of “Landscape Turned Red: The Battle
of Antietam,” by Stephen W. Sears. This book is a very interesting look into the men who
were in control of this battle. He details personalities, which is incredibly helpful in
assessing the situation, as well as providing the reader with descriptions that make the
entire issue make a lot more sense than many previously written history books have done.
While he appears to spend a great deal of time illustrating the involvement of McClellan,
this is really quite useful in more thoroughly understanding the battle and the time as it
relates to humans and human nature. No additional sources provided.
