the results still have people wondering if the low carb diet is hip, or if it is all hype. What are Carbs?
Carbohydrates, in their most simplest form, are sugars which the body uses for quick energy. Because they can be broken down quickly and effectively by the body, they used to
be the food of champions, which is where the term carbo-loading came from. Carbs are typically low in fat which made dieters think that they were one of the good
foods. However, as the low carb diet has proven, foods such as Pastas and certain grains, can actually work against the body in worse ways than fatty foods. There are
two groups in the carbohydrate family: simple and complex. The simple carbohydrates, according to most of the low carb diets, are not as bad for the body as the complex
carbs. The complex carbs take longer for the body to break down and therefore sit in the gut longer, elevating the blood sugar levels significantly. The blood-glucose connection
