tanks, that would enable each of the cars to travel up to 100 kilometers or more, on just one liter of fuel (Constable, 2007). Additionally, both were to utilize new
tyre technology that would have enabled more efficient and less hazardous steering and control of the vehicles (Constable, 2007). In these respects, the creation cycles overlapped considerably. In regards to
development of the vehicles, there is some sense that the Hyrban began to overtake the LIFECar in priority as the plans went to a higher level of sophistication. For instance,
the LIFECars initial road tests were compromised by a lack of available technology in regards to the tyres and full-sized hydrogen tank. When the time came for the Hyrbans road
tests, however, these issues had been largely resolved, at least to the extent necessary for testing, and Spowers could focus on other developmental aspects, such as readying a prototype of
the Hyrban for public launch, and details associated with the production phase, such as identifying a manufacturing location (Constable, 2007). As for the management of the twin projects, both cars
continued to follow a similar path. The LIFECar would ultimately have been released into a category of vehicle where it would have underperformed in terms of both price and performance
(Constable, 2007). However, learning from this, the management phase of the Hyrban saw it being released under classification as a quadricycle, which would allow it to bypass many of the
costly tests and regulations that had held up release of the LIFECar (Constable, 2007). In a sense, while it might seem as if the Hyrban development overtook the LIFECar development,
the reality is that both cycles supported one another, and the Hyrban incorporated many lessons learned during the LIFECar project. Q2. Spowers approach to development involved
