of failure. The plan in question is to help the organization understand the benefits of communication, collaboration and conflict management, as well as to improve the overall effectiveness of this
organizations groups. The question were trying to answer here involves how to implement this training. Developing a training program without understanding how well it might/might not be received would likely
lead to the programs failure. Korte (2006), among others, addresses this issue, pointing out that even the best-designed training program in the world
will fall short if there is a lack of understanding about the "dynamics of the trainer and learner during the implementation phase" (514). The reason why, Korte points out, is
because learners dont interact with instructors in the same way. As a result, he notes, the best way to implement any type of training program is to understand that there
are methods, outside of formal systems, to accomplish this task. Some of these methods include self-directed learning (in which the learner takes initiative to absorb and act on information that
is important to him/her) and methods of delivery that are organization-embedded (Korte, 2006). This latter involves the organizations ability to create environments that are more conducive to learning (Korte, 2006).
This type of environment is one that identifies, recognizes and accepts differences, provides timely and important feedback, stimulates new ideas and understands that mistakes will happen, and tolerates those mistakes
(Korte, 2006). An added issue concerning the organization with which were dealing is skepticism. As mentioned above, this organization has had a recent
failure. Failure tends to have a dire impact on morale, because typically the steps leading up to the failure were either glossed over, hidden or sugar-coated with ill-timed words such
