one can say that this individual has obtained knowledge. Knowing this, scientists and researchers have been studying the correlation between memory and learning and how this might be enhanced, as
well as what the implications might be to the field of psychology. Chapter One: Nature versus Nurture/The Face of Change In the human condition change is inevitable. How a
person deals with such changes is often what determines their character, the course of their lives, and the quality of their lives. Darwin, according to this first chapter, proposed that
a species adapted to changes within their environment. Yet others suggested that it was not the environment at all but the support system which was in place to aid the
individual. The position a theory takes on nature versus nurture affects its explanation of individual differences. For example, some theorists emphasize stability, the belief that children who are high
or low in a characteristic will remain so at later ages in a continual fashion. Theorists who emphasize stability typically stress the importance of heredity. If theorists regard environment as
crucial, they generally point to early experiences as establishing lifelong patterns of behavior. Some theorists believe that change is possible and likely if new experiences support it. These theorists, then,
support, the nature versus nurture ideas. Having studied the proposed theories, one has to determine that one swings as far to the left as to the right. In other words,
