that could be reckoned with. As this was in the days before workers rights and unions, the main leadership style of the day pretty much involved a leader giving
orders and subordinates jumping to carry those orders out. Very rarely were the orders questioned; the understanding was that if the orders were questioned, this would be grounds for
dismissal. This was known as the classical leadership style, which is still in use today. However, things have changed in the
workforce. The type of work being performed is different that was a century ago, workers for the most part tend to be better educated, and work environments have changed
as well. In addition, workers have become more empowered in more motivated to do a good job for their companies. But a lot of the reason why workers
choose either to work or not to work at their best capacity is because of the leader. The leader primarily is responsible for ensuring that the worker is productive
and that what is produced helps add to a companys bottom line. Where the goal of the leader might differ is in
how he encourages workers to operate. While in the early part of the century, there was only one recognized leadership style, in this day and age there are many
types of leadership styles. While many of them overlap with one another, they are also separate and distinct from each other -- and many studies and much research has
