completed. In this paper, well present a model of a proposal detailing a potential training seminar to develop leaders, and what
to look for when it comes to leadership culture, structure and practices for organizations that are seeking for the ideal leader.
The ideas proposed here will involve a series of six workshops detailing different aspects of leadership. Workshop 1 - Roles of Leadership and Management
Any leadership training seminar should first focus on the differences between leadership and management. These two tend to be interchanged, but the roles are very different (Turk, 2007).
Leaders are the big-picture folks. Theyre the ones who undertake the holistic task of overseeing the distant goal. Theyre the ones who understand how the parts of the whole fit
together (Turk, 2007). Managers, on the other hand, manage the tasks necessary to get to those objectives and goals (Turk, 2007). It could be said that while leaders see the
entire forest, managers are careful not to bump into the trees that make up the forest. Its true that managers can lead and
