of how something like this could be written. When being asked to define my personal leadership philosophy, the usual things came to my
mind: A good leader should inspire, a good leader should communicate, a good leader should be able to motivate followers, and so on. This is all important, but what really
stayed in my mind was an article about leadership philosophy from the "Happy Manager" website. This article pointed out that it wasnt so much the big things that counted in
leadership, but the little things - like respect. The article noted that respect of others was a sure way to ensure those others would follow you.
Id add one more thing to that philosophy of respect; kindness. By kindness, I dont mean automatically forgiving everyone whos wronged you or forgiving transgressions. Once
again, its the little things. Holding a door open for someone. Being a sounding board without being asked. Letting an employee go home a little early because shes worked so
hard. In other words, my philosophy of leadership is certainly the need for communication, teamwork and a vision to follow. But its
also respecting followers for what they bring to the table - and indulging in random acts of kindness. How does something like
