about the inherent necessity for ethical behavior within a company in order to promote success and longevity. Perhaps not more than a
few decades ago, many companies were run with the sort of tactics and structures which would have made the former Soviet Union proud. However, what is being discovered in the
modern era, is that the vestiges of those former years still haunt many of todays businesses. What seems to be lacking, that small piece to the puzzle, may not rest
on the restructuring of the business itself, but rather an assessment by prospective and existing leaders of their own contribution to the successful ratio. It can be said that
there are several factors which help to stack the deck in the successful businesss favor. In the United States, the atmosphere of a free market brought with it the ability
for anyone to start up their own business and to grow that business into a viable commodity for the nation. This is not the same business playground that businessmen
played on only a few decades ago. More automation, faster communications and a global outlook have increased the need for leaders who are flexible, but decisive, collaborative, but strategic in
their goal setting. In the end, without someone to make clear-cut goals for the rest of the company, the company fails. Therefore, upper management, rather than being expendable or subject
