option is to partner with another American company already established in Japan. There are different types of joint venture agreements, such as: * Two businesses establish a joint venture
to conduct business in a third country, example: a US firm and British firm jointly operate in Japan. * Joint venture with a local firm, an American company enters
an international joint venture agreement with a Japanese company to conduct business in Japan. * Enter a joint venture agreement with another American company already established in Japan. Franchising would
involve the same steps as it does in the U.S. A resident of Japan would open a Krispy Kreme donut store by franchising with the Krispy Kreme Corporation. The first
