knowledge, and the sharing of that knowledge, is key to growth in businessii. Therefore, I believe it is imperative to relay what I believe will propel your organization to excellence.
In reviewing the knowledge assets at Dirt Bikes, it becomes clear that while there is some information, there is a lack of extensive knowledge. Dirt Bikes needs to expand in
respect to sales and marketing as well as its distribution channel. In fact, in examining the way in which the company does business, it seems that more could be accomplished
if the sales and distribution channels were in place in a more organized fashion. Knowledge management comes into play because there is a lack of expertise in this area. This
means that the firm should hire an expert in this niche. To some extent, a serious problem is in fact the way in which these bikes are sold and
distributed and someone who is knowledgeable in that field can be a great asset to Dirt Bikes, but there are other knowledge management problems. I believe that there needs to
be a database on which staff can rely to retrieve valuable information for retail customers and client owners. It seems that because Dirt Bikes does use parts from different areas
of the world and also, that it is knowledgeable in terms of performance and quality, it needs a way to relay the information to others. One proposal is to begin
a magazine which can be sent to clientele. In part, while there is much knowledge between company owners and some staff, there is a lack of dissemination of that knowledge.
