It is hard to imagine that there are different kinds of knowledge. Most people equate knowledge with having learned something whether it is from life, or from the classroom. Yet,
there are two distinct types of knowledge. Aristotle for example believed that all knowledge is empirical. That is, knowledge must be experienced and a student looking at the problem
will recognize that at first glance, it makes sense. If one hears a rumor as opposed to a documented fact they are not as inclined to believe it. In fact,
they should not. However, if someone sees something with their own eyes, they will certainly believe it and embrace it as knowledge. That said, eyes could play tricks. There are
optical illusions. In fact, some philosophers like Descartes question that existence of everything and ask how does anyone know anything anyway. Clearly, the philosophy of knowledge is much more intricate
than merely defining terms and goes to a lot of things that are not seen, such as the soul. The absent-minded professor is a good example of the difference
between intellectual knowledge and sense knowledge. To take that a step beyond, and bring it down to reality, most people know someone who gets wonderful grades in school, but does
not have a lick of common sense. This is the human illustration of the difference between the two types of knowledge, but philosophers have worked hard to qualify knowledge and
