several nursing practice theories similar in that they are based on a system concept. That of Imogene King falls within this realm as well. Unlike some others, Kings
theory seeks to integrate personal, interpersonal and social systems as they are associated with nursing practice. The personal experience of the direct-care nurse
never is limited only to the patient, but involves several other interface systems as well. These "systems" as discussed by King include peer nurses; administrative personnel; the health care
facility in which the nursing care takes place; and even the local external community. The social system can be extended even further to include all of health care and
the national publics perspective of the nursing profession and of nurses as a group. Components of the Nursing Model One compilation of nursing
