Essay / Research Paper Abstract
7 pages in length. Many have tried to match the integrity of Shakespeare's Hamlet when creating a film version of the classic story, however, few have been able to capture the disposition, direction, artistry or script precision as straightforwardly as in Kenneth Branagh's version. Comparing this movie to that of Franco Zeffirelli's celebrated adaptation, one cannot help but identify myriad inconsistencies in the latter's overall approach that draws away from the appreciation of Shakespeare's fundamental application, not the least of which includes the differing components mentioned above. Bibliography lists 6 sources.

artistry or script precision as honestly and straightforwardly as what is found in Kenneth Branaghs version. Comparing this particular movie to that of Franco Zeffirellis celebrated adaptation, one cannot
help but identify myriad inconsistencies in the latters overall approach that draws away from the appreciation of Shakespeares fundamental application, not the least of which includes the differing components mentioned

With few slow spots in the lengthy production, Branagh successfully captured the minutest of nuances, as well as the larger subtleties, of one of the worlds most celebrated literary
masterpieces. That Zeffirellis Hamlet has long been considered the best of its genre is no longer a valid assumption, inasmuch as Branagh has come forth with a version that
wholly eclipses the standard. What can easily be argued is the fact that Branaghs film version is just as breathtaking as Shakespeare intended it to be. The primary indication
that Branaghs adaptation of Shakespeares Hamlet is significantly superior to Zeffirellis is that it includes each and every line in Shakespeares original script. This is quite an unusual occurrence
in that filmmakers generally tend to accommodate the play to their own liking, often striking several lines or even whole segments in order to gain their own perspective, a tactic
