the different frameworks it becomes apparent that the process that is used will depend on a range of factors, not only that style of the decisions maker, but also the
context in which the decision is being made and the nature of the decision itself (Pettigrew, 1990). Despite this, all process will have similar stages even if the contents and
relative importance of each stage may vary. The main stages are the same in all processes; to define the problem, to consider the alternatives, to evaluate the best course of
action and to make the decision. This process may take seconds, or may take months, depending on the context. A logical normative model has been used, these are models
of decision making that are based on rational decisions. This is one of the earlier early decision making theories were based on the model of rational choices with the best
option being adopted, and made assumptions that information was available and that man was rational. The rational model saw a decision maker looking at all the options and then choosing
one which was obviously the best (Simon, 1947). Question 2 There are different stages that the decision making process will traverse in a logical manner. Looking different steps
that the first stage must be that of defining or identifying the problem or question; it is difficult to determine options when the problem has not been defined. After there
is a clear question or problem the next stages can be considered. Simon (1977) sets out a stages of the decision making process which can be broken down in
further steps. Intelligence, design and choice, which are followed by implementation where the process will then start again or it will be completed. In this systematic decisions process the first
