I. Introduction Karl Marx is studied in the field of sociology today as he was a writer of great importance. He focused on economic
and philosophical topics, and above all, he was quite political. Not only did he talk the talk, he walked the walk. Marx was born in rather good circumstances, but for
various reasons, could not handle money and also indulged in a few vices, rendering him not well off financially or physically for most of his adulthood. While some might speculate
that his own inability to manage money or his life, for that matter, was responsible for his leftist views, it is hard to say that with any conviction. Marx was
a great thinker and was able to articulate the reasons why his plan would work. Many small communist governments uphold Marx. Indeed, his plan was good. He
thought of the little people and was against big business. He might be a hero to some, but others contend that he was simply wrong. His communist ideal never really
materialized in the way that he might have imagined. Communism wrought no paradise. Rather, communist countries ended up poor, while the capitalist nations grew wealthy. The debate on communism continues.
Although most do not support the theory any longer, others contend that it is still a valid typology. In any event, Marx was about more than communism and his interesting
