knowledge, but something that goes beyond the scope of mans concrete thoughts and experiences. It is also more than reason. There is knowledge hidden in mans very nature. It is
intrinsic and is representative of a species and not simply a life. What Kant did was to delve into metaphysics. Kant seems to utilize the idea of the a priori
experience to make his case. Kant (1990) explains that judgment rests on a priori grounds. The idea is that there is intrinsic knowledge, or knowledge that is not
learned. And when talking of beauty for example one is not speaking of knowledge at all. Still, the information is intrinsic and universal. These principals seem to emanate from
Kants work and help to explain why there is beauty, how people can come together and agree on aesthetics and so forth. How else would one know that Kim Basinger
is beautiful? There has to be some standards and arguably it is a social construction, but there does seem to be something more in this respect. Further, when Kant pursued
transcendence he saw it as knowledge beyond the scope of human understanding. He saw the concept as being equated with something that exceeds any individual persons comprehension. Transcendence then exceeds
all human capacity. This concept is not foreign to the religious sort who sees God as omnipotent and omniscient, certainly exceeding what a human being can understand. God knows all
and many can accept that concept. Yet, it is hard to actually understand it. It is beyond human capability to fully appreciate the concept. Another example is infinity. How can
