less on film sales and more on imaging technology (Colbert, 2010). These days, the company is in business to provide imaging technology products and services to the graphic communications and
photographic markets (Colbert, 2010). Moving in this direction has created some major changes, however - during 2009, the company had to
lay off 17% of its global workforce, with more than half of those located in the United States (Colbert, 2010). This followed another purge that took place in 2007, and
that laid off about half the companys workforce (Colbert, 2010). These days, the company operates out of three divisions, the Consumer
Digibal Imaging Group; Film, Photofinishing and Entertainment Group and Graphic Communications Group (Colbert, 2010). As of 2009, the company discontinued its Kodachrome color film line, which had been suffering from
sales decline (Colbert, 2010). Overall, the company is also focusing on trying to have a leaner, more efficient operating structure in an attempt to pull out of its current slump
(Colbert, 2010). Furthermore, the company is trying to fine-tune its portfolio and business structure, to make it leaner (Colbert, 2010). In 2007, Eastman Kodak sold its Light Management Films unit
and that same year, exited its Commercial Imaging Group by selling its Remote Sensing Systems operations (Colbert, 2010). Has its strategy for digital imaging been successful? What was done
