continued long after his death, to influence Egypt. Early Childhood: King Tuts parents have always been a great source of debate amongst scholars. Some say that he was the son
of the pharaoh Akhenaten and a second wife named, Kiya. Akhenatens first wife was the famous Nefertitii and so it is known that Tut was not her son. In addition,
after the birth of Tut little mention is made of his mother, leading experts to believe that his mother may have passed away during childbirth, as was a frequent occurrence
during that day and age. Tut would lose his only remaining parent when he turned ten years old. This made him Pharaoh. However, it is more likely that this
was in name only as he was surrounded and guided by at least two viziers, one named Aye, is rumored to have been his Uncle. There is very little
history of Tuts early childhood, but of his early marriage to his half sister, Ankhesenamen, there seems to be more record. From all accounts they were inseparable and may have
grown up as playmates together. There were found two mummified babies in the royal tombs, indicating that they had no children that were carried to full term. Innovations:
Tut changed his name from his given name to the name of Tutankhamen when he became Pharaoh(Dunn 2004). This was due in a large
part to his renouncement of his fathers religion. His father had done away with the belief in gods and goddesses and instituted a belief system which held only one god
