is to discuss the juvenile sentencing process and the authors apparent purpose in writing section 8 is to discuss the concept of the death penalty for juveniles.
Section 5 discusses adjudication of the juvenile as well as the role of the prosecutor in juvenile justice today. Heretofore, this has not been an
issue, but it is one today. At one time, the juvenile justice system served to slap delinquent children on the hand. The social worker had a great deal
of say-so concerning juveniles, but not a great deal of law concerning juveniles existed. They did not have rights. The program has changed since that time.
Section 8 discusses the possibility of sentencing a juvenile to death for crime or crimes committed by the juvenile. It would appear that a
great many people in society does not want a child to be given the death penalty for committing heinous crimes while a juvenile. It is allowable to give this
punishment under the law, however, and it has occurred a number of times. In fact, the death penalty has seen resurgence. Section
5 discusses juvenile sentencing. The issue of juvenile delinquency is one of major concern to families, schools, law enforcement agencies, and society as a whole. There has been
