high workload. The recommendation was made after careful consideration, using both the Bazerman & Moores six-step approach and a common sense approach
where objective was sought to overcome potential personal biases. Not all factors are easily quantified; this means some judgement issues regarding the way that scores were allocated and potential outcomes
were assessed. To support the recommendation two of these judgement issues can be outlined. As a member of the department who is
directly impacted by the increased workload as well as managing other employees who are also impacted there is an unavoidable element of bias within the assessment. The close relationship may
also create a social bias towards the employees rather than the management. However, by being a part of the situation this also gives an insight to the issues that are
being raised and the impact this has on the employees as a whole. In recognising and addressing this bias and seeking to
gain a more objective approach to ensure that the recommendation was an optimal solution research was undertaken using to identify relevant theory. This was undertaken with a literature search were
