own definition of equity that does not equate with the masses, then that institution must either be abolished or reformed. Indeed, the authors egalitarian argument is based upon the
fact that justice, in and of itself, is the sole factor that supports social institutions; however, the concept of justice must be the same across the board in order for
it to be properly implemented. But do we as Americans believe that sacrificing true justice for any other social aspect is not worthy of the transformation? As well,
it is the responsibility of every individual to establish a concrete interpretation of what justice represents, inasmuch as this will warrant a common denominator between and among all populations.
STEREOTYPES AND RACISM Society has been struggling to overcome centuries of racism, racial conflicts and racial polarization. There is virtually no segment of society that is not
affected by racial stereotypes. From school children to the workplace, from the entertainment industry to the sports world, white privilege is an integral part of societys framework - and
nowhere is this more evident than within the justice system. Indeed, a perfect society would reflect an attitude of equality -- rather than one of segregation --
toward the myriad ethnicitys that exist. Gerry Spence points out rampant inequalities that exist within our justice system, unfairness that even he himself has used from time to time.
