Christianity or Islam, the two largest religions in the world, but it is still a very powerful religion in that it involves the Jewish people of the world. Today there
are approximately around 18 million Jews in the world, with most of them living in Israel and North America (Robinson, 2005). The following paper examines the history and beliefs of
Judaism. (NOTE: The Jewish people have a prohibition against spelling the name of the deity in full and as such the paper follows with many articles and uses the term
"G-d." Judaism "Circa 2000 BCE, the G-d of the ancient Israelites established a divine covenant with Abraham, making him the patriarch
of many nations" (Robinson, 2005). Interestingly enough, there are four religions that are considered Abrahamic as they trace their religion back to Abraham. These religions are "Judaism, Christianity, Islam and
the Bahai World Faith" (Robinson, 2005). The Jewish people follow much of the Old Testament in the Bible used by Christians. In
its early days the original tribe, or organization became a kingdom by the actions of Samuel and the first king of this kingdom was Saul (Robinson, 2005). The second king
was David and he is the one held responsible for truly creating the religious and political center of Judaism within Jerusalem (Robinson, 2005). Solomon, the third king is responsible for
building the first temple in Jerusalem (Robinson, 2005). It is also interesting to note that "Christianity was established initially as a Jewish
sect, centered in Jerusalem" (Robinson, 2005). This group followed the teachings of Jesus, who was called Yeshua of Nazareth (Robinson, 2005). This particular group was led by Jesus brother James,
