up and down. She demonstrated by showing them how she could make her eyebrows go up and down. Jack put his fingers on his eyebrows and pushed them
up and down while the teacher continued to talk. Some noise from the hallway outside caught Jacks attention, and he was distracted from the activity. The teacher called
to Jack to get him to look back at her and participate in the activity. The teacher then asked the children to put one finger from one hand on the
top of their mouth and one finger from the other hand on the bottom of their mouth. Jack put one finger on the top of his mouth and then
started babbling, staring at himself in a mirror that was near the table. The teacher turned the mirror away from Jack and told him that he should be doing
what she is doing. Jack could not put both fingers on this mouth, but he did stop babbling when the mirror was removed. The teacher asked the children to
put both hands on their cheeks and gestured to them to imitate her actions. She them put both hands on her cheeks, pulled her cheeks back and then pulled them
down, squishing them to form a fish face. All the children were participating except for Jack, who was staring at the ceiling, moving in his chair, and playing with
some flash cards that were left on the table. The teacher asked him to "look and listen to what I am saying." She held both of Jacks hands
while she was talking to him. The teacher took the flash cards and showed them to the group, one at a time, and asked first if they could tell
