Esmeralda & Inozemtseva, Olga, May 2009, Gender Differences and Cognitive Correlates of Mathematical Skills in School-Aged Children, Child Neuropsychology, vol. 15, p. 216-231. Purpose: This study attempted to answer two
questions: 1. Are gender differences in childrens mathematical test performance interrelated with age, And 2. Would verbal and nonverbal cognitive nonmathematical tests be predictive of gender differences in childrens mathematical
test performance? Subjects: 278 children between the ages of 7 and 10 and 248 children between the ages of 13 and 16. These represented grades 1-5 and grades 7-11. Children
were selected randomly but none could have a history of neurological or psychiatric disorders. This study was conducted in Colombia and Mexico. Instruments: The Evaluaci?n Neuropsicol?gica Infantil (ENI, Child Neuropsychological
