John Joseph Gotti Jr. "John Joseph Gotti, Jr. was born on October 27, 1940. He was the fifth child of John J. Gotti, Sr. and his wife, Fannie"
(Crime Library [2], 2007). Interestingly enough, early writings about Gotti Sr. had him as a hardworking man who came from Italy but according to Gotti Jr. his father never worked
a day in his life, was a rolling stone and had never been to Italy (Crime Library [2], 2007). Gotti Jr. claimed because of this their family never had anything
(Crime Library [2], 2007). In reality, "the family was raised in a dirt-poor, poverty-ridden section of the South Bronx" (Crime Library [2], 2007). However, apparently his father did manage to
make some money for he moved the family to the Sheepshead Bay neighborhood of Brooklyn just prior to Jrs turning 10 years old (Crime Library [2], 2007). Then one year
later they moved once more, into East New York (Crime Library [2], 2007). It is noted that as a boy, with the
nickname "Johnny Boy," Gotti Jr. had a very quick temper and used his fists quite a lot, generally out of anger for those who had more than he or his
