has been described variously as "a study of how effectively society meets its human and material needs" (SJU, 2002, PG), and as an ordered way of looking at problems.
Economics is a use of many different disciplines including history, math, and philosophy to come up with a long-term effect of what the financial future might hold (SJU, 2002). Economics
is not only used in business but in the running of a household, a farm, a hobby, and a myriad of other opportunities as well. Because of this economics
can be considered one of the most widely useful lines of knowledge in the business related fields. It can be applied to nearly any place and to anything in
our daily lives (SJU 2002). Economics majors are felt to have a wide range of choices they can make when they graduate from school; some will go on to get
their Masters degrees in Business, and many schools have graduate courses in Economics. Some of the most logical places to look for work as an Economics major is in
banks, businesses, stockbrokers, and other financial institutions. Sales and management are also fields in which economics is a helpful degree to have. If a student wants to study law,
economics is considered "an excellent choice to start out" (SJU, 2002, PG). "Many law schools now believe that economics represents one of the best backgrounds for success because of
