or not individuals experience, for the most part, job satisfaction. The following paper explores the topic of happiness, i.e., job satisfaction, within the field of counseling. This investigation encompasses two
parts; the first of which consisted of interviewing professional counselors and the second addresses some of the latest empirical research on this topic. The interviews Three professional counselors were
interviewed: two are LPCs (Licensed Professional Counselors) and one is a high school guidance counselor. Each individual was questioned as to his or her educational background and asked to describe
interaction with their clients and students; if they would choose the same field again; and how the field of psychology has changed during their careers. The educational background for
both of the LPCs is that both of these counselors have a Ph.D. When asked about their primary activities, that is, how they interact with their clients, the LPCs indicated
that they provide a variety of services, such as individual psychotherapy; marriage counseling; hypno-therapy, and family therapy. Both of these professionals indicated that they loved their work and would not
wish to do anything else. However, one indicated that it took her awhile to come to this level of job satisfaction. Consequently, when
she was younger, she might have chosen a different career, but, today, she is glad that she did not because she experiences a high level of job and life satisfaction
by offering counseling services that aid others. In response to the question about how the field of psychology has changed since the
