but plays that reach deep, often even confusing the viewer. One such play is Orra. Orra is a play that is offered up in a very voyeuristic manner. Of course
all plays are intended for audiences to watch, but while watching Orra many have noted that the feeling is invasive as they witness the mental decline of one woman. With
this in mind the following paper examines Baillies play. Orra As mentioned, this play is about a woman, Orra. Orra is a woman who is delving into the dark
realms of the human mind and of the realities that surround her. She all but immerses herself in the mystical realities she sees as possible, that is namely gothic and
ghostly. The entire play is really nothing more than her descent into a sort of madness and the audience is pulled along, feeling as though they are partaking in something
that should perhaps be kept private. This is, in all honesty, the entire plot of the story. It is not a play that presents us with a normal happy woman
who falls into madness in the end. It is the story of one woman who is mentally, perhaps, unstable and a woman who is clearly fearful and already mad to
some extent. There are many different elements within the play that offer the viewer themes. One theme or element is that which concerns the nature of mankind. Mankind is
