In reward, the prophets promised the Jewish people a land of their own. Today, these two acts of responsibility are the main pursuits of most the worlds Jewry. As
fate would have it, it is the heinousness of the Holocaust that has led the worlds Jewish nation to proactively seek the next set of responsibilities handed down to it
by the early prophets. According to James Rudin, the theological and sociological point of "self-annihilism" was to lead the worlds Christian leadership into a new discussion, "a theology of
pluralism." "It is not enough that we live together as faith communities; rather, our faiths must sustain and anchor our shared existence in a pluralistic setting. Unless that
happens, the cruel winds of anti-Semitism, religious bigotry and extremism, combined with economic turbulence, could spell disaster . . ." (Rudin 239). In reward to for accepting and
