toting Bibles and directing anyone who will listen to Bible verse. Understanding the teachings of Jesus in regards to non-violence helps us understand not only Jesus and his teachings,
but also how those teachings apply to our own world and our own times. The views of Jesus in regards
to non-violence are easily accessed, as examples abound from the Bible. Furthermore, outside readings such as Metzgers, The New Testament: Its Background, Growth and Content make such a
journey even more accessible, given the ease with which Metzger outlines his thesis (Metzger, 2003). Metzger provides readers with an understanding of Jesus Christ the person, as well as
the cultural circumstances of the era - all of which serve to form and shape Jesus views on non-violence (Metzger, 2003). Therefore, review of the Bible, Metzgers works, and
other outside sources, there is much presentation and analysis of Jesus attitudes on the issue of non-violence. There can be no doubt
that Jesus was in favor of non-violence, and this is evident in a plethora of citations. It was Jesus who said that the peacemakers were blessed, and to turn
