depressing message of redemption, and Jesus in the bible. In assessing the title the link between Jesus may be read in two ways, either that of the relationship between a
father and son, where often a different to his father, less or more than, taking a different direction, even where trade or characteristics are handed down. In this the narrator
may be seen as a candidate for someone who would be similar to the son of Jesus. However, this may also be interpreted in a more general way, as a
son of Jesus, in the sense that all individuals are children to God. Many of the messages brought by Jesus were aimed , not at the rich or the powerful,
but at those who sights to find a meaning to life, or wanted to feel loved. Jesus offered redemption to those who believed. In this sense, the narrator may be
seen as a son of Jesus. The narrator is the link through the stories, and to assess the appropriateness of the title we need to consider the parallels between
the narrator in this story and Jesus, as seen in the bible. It could be argued that the narrator comes from a similar background, it appears to be one that
has not benefited from wealth and power, but from a humble background, and then lives in poverty with few real possession. He also mixes with some of those seen as
