the care of the "downtrodden and the marginalized" people of the society of his era was a constant focus of his ministry, as the gospel accounts show that a "crowd
is never simply a crowd for him," as Jesus heard the cries of the "blind and the lame."1 It is also true that, technically speaking, there were instances
in Jesus ministry where it can be argued that Jesus technically "broke" the dictums of Mosaic Law. While the student researching this topic is encouraged to express a personal view
on this issue when writing his/her own essay, the following discussion will attempt to illustrate that it was the letter of the law that was violated by Jesus actions, not
the spirit of the divine law, as given to Moses by God. As Jesus was perfectly in tune with Divine Will, his actions never deviated from a perfect accord with
principles of both righteousness and justice. First of all, for the purposes of clarity, it is helpful to discuss what, precisely, is meant by the word "law." In the
