This paper argues that Jesus Christ was a servant leader, which is sometimes described as shepherd leadership. A servant leader is one who understands that real leadership is identifying
the needs of others and meeting those needs by demonstrating their gift of mercy. A servant leader also recognizes the potential in others that they themselves may not recognize and
using their unique gifts of shepherding to bring people along. This leader tends to have a sanguine temperament. People with this type of temperament tend to have a positive
outlook on life. They may be a bit extroverted because they love people. A normal human with this temperament may seem disorganized and lack concentration. Again, that normal human would
need help from the Holy Spirit to help him gain more self-control before he burns himself out. These downsides, of course, were not exhibited by Jesus. The servant leader will
usually rely on the Leadership Law of Problem Solving. The Law of Problem Solving is a very strong positive factor for this leader because it builds credibility. People follow those
who can make decisions and solve problems. The leader helps remove the obstacles that people find frustrating when working towards a goal. Christ was often referred to as a shepherd
and people were referred to as sheep: "When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd."1 In John
21:15-19, we read these instructions, each of which follows Christs question about whether Peter loves Him: "Feed my lambs....Take care of my sheep....Feed my sheep." These are instructions from Jesus
