company itself. This company, started in the late 1960s, was cofounded by Jeff Wilkins. He helped build this company till it became the powerful icon it is today, and then
moved on to also found Metatech. The following paper looks at the information available in order to see what it is about the life and characteristics of Jeff Wilkins that
makes him a powerful business success. Jeff Wilkins Jeff Wilkins, above all, appears to be a very realistic individual who knows, or understands, the inherent problems in business.
As such he possesses many character traits that have helped him get where he is today. If we had to pinpoint three different strengths possessed by Wilkins it would perhaps
be his ability to communicate, his ability to be a team player, and his sheer determination. In an appearance at Ohio State University he presents us with reasons why communication
is so important, and thus offers us a look at his own ability to communicate as a strength. "Communication skills are critical to success. If you cant communicate what you
want to do, it is difficult to attract people to follow you and to get people to support you" (The Ohio State University: Fisher [1], 2003). He obviously understands that
one cannot simply dictate but must truly communicate in order to be successful. In the same appearance he discusses allowing others to play a part, and trusting in the
good of those people: "Believe in people. You have to be able to believe in the inherent strength of man and the people on your team" (The Ohio State University:
Fisher [1], 2003). Lastly we have his determination. However, at the same time it is not a determination that forgets all else. First of all he claims that one
