social networking sites, such as Facebook, which have entirely changed the way in which many people stay in touch, communicate with one another, manage their social obligations, and so on.
However, changing the means by which individuals engage with these social practices is bound to have a transformative impact upon the practices themselves; in other words, as people communicate through
different means, the process of communication itself changes. One recently observed phenomenon in which Facebook can be seen exerting a sociological impact shows that the use of the social networking
site is associated with a rise in jealousy in situations where both partners in a relationship are active users; this is a clear example of a process by which the
